
Brief History of Heritage Structures
- Ellis House:
Located at 43 Boyle St. The large frame house on the banks of the red river was built at the turn-of-the century for Charles Ellis, a craftsman and property owner and his wife Isabella. The Ellis family remained in the home into the 1970s. URL: now.winnipeg.ca
- German club:

Located at 61 Heaton Ave. This classically-detailed stone and brick structure was home to winnipeg’s German club from its construction in 1904 to early 1940s. URL: now.winnipeg.ca
3. J.R. Watkins Company Factory-Warehouse:
Located at 90 Annabella St. This massive warehouse was completed in 1914 and occupied by spice medicine and extract manufacturers J.R. Watkins until the late 1980s. URL: now.winnipeg.ca
4. James William Ackland House:

Located at 74 Ave This home, built in 1882, is one of the older single-family structures in South Point Douglas and was built for J.R. Ackland, carriage manufacturer whose factory was across Higgins avenue. URL: now.winnipeg.ca
5. Fort Douglas Plaque:

6. Scots Monument:

7. The Point sculpture:
